Apple Valley Unified School District officials announced that all three ceremonies will feature traditional commencement activities, including the processional, presentation of diplomas, recognition of academic achievement, and addresses from student valedictorians. District administrators and members of the AVUSD Board of Trustees are expected to attend each event alongside Superintendent Trenae Nelson.

The graduation week begins Tuesday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m. with High Desert Premier Academy’s commencement ceremony. Granite Hills High School will follow on Wednesday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m., while Apple Valley High School will conclude the district celebrations on Thursday, May 28, at 7:00 p.m.

All ceremonies will be held at Newton T. Bass Stadium, located at 11837 Navajo Road in Apple Valley. District officials stated attendees should carry proper identification upon entering the stadium. Media representatives planning to attend have been asked to RSVP with district communications staff in advance.

The ceremonies highlight the continued growth and development of Apple Valley Unified School District, which has expanded significantly over the past several decades as the High Desert population increased. Apple Valley High School, one of the region’s longstanding campuses, has produced generations of graduates who have entered military service, skilled trades, higher education, public safety, and local businesses throughout San Bernardino County.

Granite Hills High School, established during a period of rapid residential growth in Apple Valley, has become known for its academic and athletic programs while serving a large portion of the community’s east side neighborhoods. High Desert Premier Academy has also grown in importance by providing alternative and independent study educational opportunities for students seeking flexible pathways toward graduation.

District leaders have increasingly emphasized career readiness, vocational education, and dual-enrollment opportunities with local colleges in recent years. AVUSD schools have expanded programs in agriculture, healthcare, technology, and public service careers to better align students with the workforce demands of the Inland Empire and High Desert economy.

Graduation ceremonies remain among the district’s most visible public events each year, drawing thousands of residents together in recognition of student achievement and community investment in local education. Families from across Apple Valley and surrounding High Desert communities are expected to attend the multi-day celebration honoring the Class of 2026.
