BAHRAIN, June 27 (World Daily Times) — Bahrain said Iran launched drones into its territory on Saturday, prompting Bahrain and other Gulf states to condemn the attack as a threat to regional security and peace efforts.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry called the strike a “flagrant threat” to the kingdom’s security. The Gulf Cooperation Council’s secretary-general, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, described the attack as “treacherous” and said it would undermine efforts to preserve peace.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the strikes were “a dangerous undermining of endeavors for peace and stability,” while Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates also issued condemnations. Qatar said the attack violated Bahrain’s sovereignty and international law, and the UAE said it remained committed to supporting Bahrain’s safety and stability.

Fox News, citing the Associated Press, reported that no casualties or significant damage had been reported. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said on state television that it had targeted several locations “of the U.S. terrorist army in the region.”
