NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic is recalling about 11,480 electric toaster ovens in the U.S. and 2,184 in Canada after regulators said the power cord insulation may be insufficient, creating a shock and fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 toaster ovens, stainless steel units with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic name on the front. The ovens were sold online through Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other platforms nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170.

The CPSC said it has received four consumer reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported.

In a letter to Costco members, Panasonic Corporation of North America said some customers bought Item #2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026. The company said consumers should stop using the toaster oven immediately and can return it to Panasonic for a refund or to a Costco Warehouse Customer Service Window for a full refund.
