DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Chevrolet has introduced the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, calling it the “most powerful Silverado ever” and saying the full-size pickup will reach dealers later this year with new V8 engines and a more digital interior.

The company said the truck will offer next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, along with an enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and the Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel. Chevrolet said the lineup gives the Silverado four powertrain options in all.

Chevrolet also said the 2027 Silverado 1500 has the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class, though the company did not publish horsepower, torque or fuel-economy figures in its announcement.

Inside, Chevrolet said every 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a modern digital cockpit that includes a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center. ZR2 and High Country trims add an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, plus a head-up display and rear camera mirror.

The company said pricing will be announced later this year. Chevrolet said the truck will be offered in seven models: ZR2, High Country, Trail Boss, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Custom and WT.

Chevrolet did not say where the truck will be built or provide a firm on-sale date beyond saying it is expected later this year.
