BARSTOW, Calif., July 5 (High Desert News Online) — The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s incidents page did not identify a Nash Fire in the public text available Friday, leaving the reported blaze near Barstow unverified as other Southern California wildfire updates continued.

A separate CAL FIRE update on the Record Fire said that blaze had burned 650 acres and was 15% contained. The agency’s incidents page is the state’s official wildfire listing.

In the Barstow area, the Heritage fire sent smoke toward Barstow and surrounding communities, according to the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District and the San Bernardino County Fire Department. That fire was reported at 500 acres and 10% contained.

The Associated Press separately reported containment updates for other Southern California fires, including the Line Fire at 36% contained and the Airport Fire at 19% contained.
