Oak Hills, California (High Desert News Online) – The High Desert community is gearing up for a day of country fun and heartfelt giving as Wild Wind Ranch hosts its Spring Hoedown Showdown fundraiser on Saturday, March 22, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This family-friendly event aims to bring neighbors together while raising funds for individuals receiving cancer treatment.

Wild Wind Ranch, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Oak Hills, has long believed in the power of compassion, community, and animal therapy. Through horseback riding lessons, pony experiences, and special events, the ranch raises crucial funds that help local residents access cancer care.

The Spring Hoedown Showdown promises something for everyone. The first 48 children under age 10 will receive a free Easter basket. Families can enjoy a free Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a variety of fun-packed activities such as pony rides, hayrides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, and a bunny garden. Activity tickets are available for $25, creating an affordable day of entertainment where proceeds go directly toward helping those in need.

Adding to the festivities, attendees can take part in door prize drawings, browse local vendor booths, savor meals from food vendors, and even join a good old-fashioned cornhole tournament — all while contributing to the ranch’s life-changing mission.

A History of Community Compassion

Founded with a goal of pairing animal therapy with charitable outreach, Wild Wind Ranch has become a trusted part of the High Desert’s tight-knit community. Over the years, the organization has hosted countless events supporting families battling illness and hardship. Its programs and fundraisers not only uplift individuals facing serious health challenges but also remind the community that faith, generosity, and neighborly care remain at the heart of Oak Hills.

As the Spring Hoedown Showdown approaches, local families, sponsors, and small businesses are encouraged to take part. Each ticket purchased, booth rented, or volunteer hour offered helps transform this annual celebration into tangible support for those facing the fight of their lives.
