Over four years on varsity, he accumulated more than 1,700 career points and 850 rebounds, cementing his place among the program’s all-time leaders.

His next chapter begins in Moscow, Idaho, where he will join a resurging Vandals basketball program. The program’s upward trajectory provides a strong platform for incoming talent looking to compete at a high level.
Newman-Gomez’s signing represents more than individual success—it underscores the continued emergence of High Desert athletes on the national stage. Over the past decade, local programs have increasingly produced college-level talent, reflecting investments in coaching, training, and community support.
